Morning everyone,

Its that time again where I will be letting you into the life of my sketchbook on the road and thoughts. The first cheeky spread is of a bus journey to work one time. A wee boy layered for the winter sitting in front of me with this awesome hat full of smiley faces. Where as everyone else on the bus sitting with long faces and frail a little inside with the thought of walking in the blistering cold. We all knew it and the blistering beast knew it far to well as he waited, waited, waited for us to press the bell.

As a few of you know from my twitter tweets, Im currently working on a Dia De Los Muertos poster along with a few other related images digitally coloured in. Here are some of the early doodles and how my thinking process begins. Will be playing and incorporating typography into this image so ought to be pretty playful.

I will leave it here since I must start making my way to Bournemouth for the weekend. Wont be blogging again till monday morning. I hope you all have a brilliant weekend and will show you more observational sketches/ photos of some of the shows I have recently been to.

Chalk Boards : The Goat

Morning everyone,

Woke up looking at these lost trees dancing in the wind and the smell of must through the wind as I opened ones window for fresh air. Its a pretty dull day like every other day during February, but todays is slightly different. Its my 24th Birthday, another year has gone and been reminiscing what I've achieved and lost this past year. It really has been a rough 9 months for me but the past 2 week I've started to look at things differently and slowly finding my confidence back. I guess its takes some longer than others to deal with things.

Yesterday i went to the theatre with my sister and saw Matilda @ The Cambridge Theatre, it was absolutely smashing, bursting with energy, like no other theatre play I've been to before (I've been to a fair few). Will blog more on this within the next few days before i get side tracked from todays post.

So the other week, a day before the launch of The Goat Pub asked me to write/ draw on there brand new colossal chalk boards that faced the entire pub with there new wine list. So after being given a box of chalk I went to face this beast of a board. Felt like being at school again writing away and having people behind you watching.

having not used chalk since I was wee I was pleased with the execution and now hundreds will witness it each week at this forever busy, modern colossal pub. After writing all this I did fancy a cheeky wee glass of the La Paz : Merlot, having started develop a liking for wine recently. Here are some cheeky pics after the jump.

I leave you all be here since I should get ready to head out and start my birthday. Im going to be meeting my sister for brunch in soho @ The BreakFast Club to witness all the hype I hear so much off, before my sister shoots back to her laboratory to work on her 3 year compound, she hopes will cure dibetes. Im than going to David Shrigley : Brain Activity show at the Hayward Gallery than to china town for a wee bowl of Won Ton noodle soup for my birthday celebration #tableforone. Spending the day on my own out and about in London. Was going to do some solo baking when i get in this evening and bake my own birthday cake but after a few years ago of attempting, it lead it to explode. So i'm a wee bit concerned...

Will post again tomorrow and speak to you all very soon.

Morning everyone,

As promised I will be blogging a lot more now that I have some time to be at my desk or even time for myself. Heres a wee spread of a person contempt on the #SouthWestTrains, i was really interested by the way he fell asleep with his hands in his pocket and the placement of his bag which balanced the frame I was drawing him in. The other spread was when I was out in Scotland and the DJ was nocking out all sorts of crazy Massive Attack remix beats. Was a good event letting loose all kinds of shapes, so drew him along with a few cheeky doodles.

Best shoot since I'm off to visit a few wee shows in East London and than dinner with the sister before heading to the theatre. Il leave you with this brilliant beat Radiohead : Little By Little (caribou rmx) that I will be listening to all day most likely, as one draws the public on the #LondonUnderground in a wee bit. Will post again tomorrow with another set of doodles so keep watch everyone.

Little By Little By Hook Or By Crook

Its been a wee while again I know but this time I blame my old MacBook to die on me after putting up with me for the past 5 years. So a few weeks back I bought a 27 inch iMac and been working a lot to afford my travels in May/ April time where this time I will be traveling to Lille, Berlin, Dresden and Scotland. Recently I haven't been home much, if anything living out my rucksack on my wee trips to places like Liverpool, Birmingham, Oxford, York, Bournemouth and Preston when i do take a weekend off work. Going to Manchester next month and a few other if plans follow through.

Past few months have been pretty mad for me and exhausting so managed to take a week off work to spend some time at home for once. So will be sleeping, drawing, blogging for the next few days. Im pretty excited to be going to the theatre tomorrow with my sister, she bought us tickets for my birthday present before I disappear to Bournemouth on Friday for the weekend.

Having been to quite a few shows naturally, I don't know really where to start on that front, lets talk more about what show I will be going to so not constantly backlogging to what I have done in the past few months. Going to be attending 'David Shrigley: Brain Activity' show at the Hayward gallery on thursday after I've done a spot of #StellaForever painting in the streets of London in the morning to let loose some steam. I guess some things will never change long hair'd girl.

Than onto a few other wee street art shows down East London and not forgetting off course, 'Lucian Freud's : Portraits' show to witness one of the world greatest portrait artist.

Anyways back to my creative side of things...

I have spent most my drawing time in my sketchbook since if you've read above, you'd know I haven't been at home or at my desk much. Probably why I have been a wee bit slow at replying to emails and posting on here.

Few of you may know that I always carry my sketchbook on me and love to draw people on my travels weather its on airplanes, London transport, eating in restaurants, pubs, cafés or my favourite being on the night bus home when they've past out asleep awkwardly. I will be posting more these drawings in the next few days along with what I'm currently doodling.

Here are some wee photop of my life recently. Ive found a new love for bubble tea recently so will most likely be going to Hong Kong Café tomorrow before heading to the theatre.

I will leave it here since my hands are so cold and need to cook dinner its getting late. Went food shopping on my way back from Birmingham so hyped to put something together while dancing to Radiohead's remix album 'TKOL RMX 1234567' . Give it a listen here everyone, its really good.

The Hunt for the Battered Haggis Unicorn

Its been a wee while since I posted anything, due to traveling for the past month or so, across England, Scotland and Spain. It has been an absolutely blast to say the least! After a hectic few days before the jump sorting out the new kitchen and finishing off a few deadline. I managed to pack and get my travel documents together than heading off to catch the train up North England where my 1st stop was to be.

Where do I begin with my travel... I walked the highlands, ran through torrential rain, break danced, drunk 6 bottles of wine to try forget some old memories, let loose lego shaped dance moves, ate colossal battered haggis's and savaged an octopus sandwich.

Documenting my travels via camera, drawings in my journal, notepad and app Instagram, if any of you have it follow me to witness it all.

Here are some pages from my journal and have many more but will be saving them for another post others wise this will end up being as long as a dissertation. Below is a photo of this amazing wee vegetarian place id recommend to eat if your in the mood for jacket potato in Edinburgh. I ate veggie haggis with spicy hummus and it tasted delicious after a wee visit in Dundee.

Trust the scottish to have a Gin and Tonic Fund tip jar at a wee cafe i went to during the day. Was really nice to have a break from walking all over the place on my own, running up and down the many stairs in Edinburgh. Took that moment to draw a few people drinking coffee and nibbling on there cinnamon bread. In the evening i went to a party with 6 bottles of white wine and ended up eating lots of hummus and olives not realizing how much I've drunk. Which lead me to create conceptual art in the toilet with a found cigarette in a wibbly wobbly state.

I went to a typical wee Glaswegian pub on one of the nights there and was literally the only none white person in there and there was 1 woman in there, every body being proper Glaswegian . 'You look as rough as a badgers asshole' was one of the quotes I heard, wrote a few others in my wee journal and will be illustrating them in the next month or so. This carnage later lead to battered chips, battered haggis, battered black pudding, normal chips with white buttered bread. Nearly having a heart attack from all the battered stuff despite it tasting pretty amazing in small dose!

Sterling castle which was gorgeous but was so very cold the higher you walked but guess you cant expect anything less from being in Scotland. At the castle there was a wee exhibition 'The Hunt of the Unicorn', often referred to as the Unicorn Tapestries, is a series of seven tapestries dating from 1495–1505. These colossal tapestries show a group of noblemen and hunters in pursuit of a unicorn. It is believed the tapestries were made in the Southern Netherlands. Couldn't get any photos of it so heres a sneaky image from an online source to give you an idea what these looked like.

My mate ended up in A&E so heres another new experience for me never being in one in the UK alone, so witnessing one in Glasgow was a first, The man sat next to me looked so badly with open cuts all over his face/head and dry blood on his hands. I tried not to make eye contact but when you see someone like that makes one wonder where he came from. Guess I will never know.

Made a few things while i was there and pasted up a hand on a wall in a building and walked out since Im sneaky like that. The hand was made from this sticky coloured paper which was so lovely to cut through and made me life super fast to bosh it out and out i went. Also visited Kelvingrove Museum a few times too while I was in Glasgow and drew few of the sculptures there. I fell in love with a few of the paintings there so a re-visit was a must the next day.

I wrote a review on my experience at the Hunterian Museum (London) a few months back that can be read here. So when i saw there was a Glasgow Hunterian Museum my wee socks got all excited and without hesitation i walked in for a closer gander. Once again you were not allowed to take photos inside but I manage to snap a sneaky few but not as many as I would liked. Here is a baby fawn's, two bodies, one heart and one head, Madness!! Along with a cyclopes piglet to company the wee fella. Was all very fascinating to witness and a lovely experience wishing I had company for.

Loved these bikes in the Riverside Museum: Scotland's Museum of transport and travel.

Met some of the protesters on the edge of Kelvingrove Park and had a chat with what they were camping for in the freezing cold while making a mess with litter. I drew some of them chilling on there mickey mouse made chairs while they drunk warm whisky and coffee. Will show all these drawings in the next month once I have executed a few unfinished ones.

I documented a lot more photos as you can imaging having been in York, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow for like 2 weeks but its getting really late and I should sleep. Back to work in the morning and time to get into my usual routine in the big smoke. I will be posting very soon about my trip to Spain, so many stories and fun moments I don't know where to begin. Hopefully I will know when that comes to that point, also my updated website will be going live this monday which is pretty exciting since its been meaning to have an update for some time now.

So My Traveling Begins: UK/ Scotland/ Spain

After the past few crazy months of producing artworks, working at my jobs and trying to find my feet again with my new life in the big smoke. I've saved enough pennies to go traveling again on my own and get lost in new places far from home. Got a few spray cans packed up and will be reunited with my haggis dish again but only this time round, it will be vegan haggis. I have looked online at the ingredients of a veggy haggis and it approved vegan friendly, WOOP WOOP.

So my traveling begin and get to these cheeky wee bad boys across Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and maybe Aberdeen. Will also be stopping in Brighton, Yorkshire, maybe Newcastle if I can squeeze it in. From there I fly to Spain to let loose some tectris shapes moves with my best mate and get up to mischief as always.

Studio Works: Dia De Los Muertos (Day Of The Dead)

Back at the studio working on the wooden panel pieces for series 'Dia De Los Muertos'. It feels all exciting to be on my feet and knees getting messy and throwing paint again. Feeling alot less angry now after taking a month break from the studio. The last time I was there, I was a complete mess whom hit rock bottom mentally. Spent the 1st 5 months throwing my shoes across the studio, kicking walls, throwing brushes/ paints and sitting there going abit mad over thinking things way too much. I took some time out to spend on my own doing the only thing i knew that would help me find my feet again.

This choice if mine may have pissed off a few people and lost out on some great opportunities but I knew deep down I had to do this for myself. I spent far to long doing things for someone else and not myself so a change was in order. I truly believe life is about experiencing new things and traveling broadens the mind so i stick by that.

With the new moleskin that the lovely Ella Master (@ella_masters) gave me 6 months ago to help me get back into drawing, I finally started 3 month later when i popped into a life drawing session by accident and naturally started drawing the lady posing on a wee tea table. Since than I have been collecting new materials and finding new inspiration through this dark chapter in my life.

So i started off with cutting up all the found bits of wood I've accumulated over the past 7 months and started sawing them all up to different sizes and wee piles. Sneaky reference in the photo of the 'Virgin De Guadalupe', for that whom don't know, she's the patriot Saint of Mexico.

So painting her is a big mile stone for me but very excited to see the final out come.

With this new body of work inspired by my Mexican roots, Im not entirely sure how many pieces or how its going to all look. All i know is that it feels right to create this pieces and excited to develop them all over the next few months. After painting in inks and wee brushes for the past 2 months, one can imaging coming from a background of painting murals and getting his hands dirty, one really misses it. Throwing paint at planks of wood and getting my hand all involved felt sensational once again. The 2 images below will end up a lot different and have a wide range of colours to emphasize these sugar skulls to be.

Some of the foods I've been eating a lot lately, been living off salads, beans and vegan falafel baps. Do love my black rice and ever since working at one of night jobs I've grown a love for olives, so greek salads have become part of my everyday life. Im currently updating my website so when I come back from my travels beginning of next month, by which point id received my magazine with 2 of my illustrations in it. Woop Woop. I can than post them up along with everything from the past 2 months of my manic life.

Dia De Los Muertos (Day Of The Dead)

For the past few months of creating so much artwork for commissions, exhibitions and juggling my daytime/ night job's has been pretty exhausting. Causing a lack in updating my work properly online and exercising since I injured myself in a hockey match few months back. As of Saturday i will be away for 3 weeks on my travels and sofa surfing up the UK, Scotland than onto Spain spraying walls, doodling my surroundings. Along with eating a lot so will be documenting all the different types of foods i will come across including deep fried battered pizza/ mars bar, haggis spring rolls and etc. Hopefully I wont have a heart attack or come back obese. Really excited to meet new faces, experience new things and be far from London most.

As for an upcoming show 'Dia De Los Muertos' in Dalston (London) I created 3 ink pieces, 6 wood pieces and 2 mixed media pieces all various sizes. Now that I am taking a wee break from it all to regain some fuel, i thought I'd post some of the finished pieces online. Influenced and inspired by my Mexican cultural background that celebrates this glorious event every year from the 1st of November to the 3rd. Throughout my childhood it was part of life to attend since we all had relatives, loved ones that passed away. Mexico reminiscing as one big community, alters in every household filled with treasures such as food, drink, sugar skulls, photographs of loved one's and flowers.

To begin with, I focused on the 1st day of this memorable celebration know as 'Dia De Los Angelitos' (Day of the little angels) where people pray for children that have past away. I chose to play with this idea and have a living child play with a friend whom past away like they once used to. Below are some close up shots of the piece.

Praying and respect for the dead is a crucial element in this celebration to acknowledge the dead your presence. It felt really nice to incorporate new colours into my work rather than my usual colour pallet. Below is a close up shot before adding all the wee flying elements.

I've also added in Stella Forever wearing a mexican patterned dress, a lady from my past paying her respects but jumping in the air being a child inside still.

I spend 4 solid days working from scratch, developing sketches in my journal, than onto paper at a larger scale incorporating my wee inks last. A slow process indeed but I'm glade with the final outcome and how my use of ink has developed throughout the pieces. As for the rest of this body of work, I'm currently painting them at the studio and will post the progress of these pieces in the next few days. Until than, enjoy 4 days of my life last month.

I Dreamt I Was A WereWolf Bird.

So i have been working on a load of works that vary from commissions, personal and gallery work. My desk is covered with sketches and all need to be painted up. Even though i visit and apart of the street art scene i do love my ink pots and wee brushes so much. It what makes art so much more interesting and exciting being influenced and sharing a studio with street artists. Once again im back tracking to last months work, My deadlines for my current works is this saturday and should be really painting, planning away with 5 more painting to the ones i already have in the series 'Dios De Los Muertos' that will be exhibiting this weekend. But more on that in my next post once ive created all the images. I will have this blog up to date in the next few weeks. Im away on tour with my spray cans and sketchbook up the UK, Scotland than Spain so pretty excited for that as of the 12th of November! woop woop.

Back to the main post subject. here are some sneaky shots in the process of creating these pair titled ' One : I Dreamt I Was A WereWolf Bird' and ' Two : I Dreamt I Was A WereWolf Bird'. We all have surreal dreams at times and recently I have stopped dreaming about the past few years of my life. So here is an insight to what i dreamt about when I finally came through from all the horrible nightmares and being an emotional wreck the past 7 months. Im sure we all dream or wonder what it would be like to fly with our arms or even to be a werewolf but maybe not as furry like. I've been meaning to move out but will in the new year when i have found both my feet again.

Here are the final scan version, but I way prefer the real deal than these versions. I just feel it doesn't do the images any justice or show how powerful the colours really are. I guess with a cheap dilapidated A4 scanner against A2 full colour images is going to be hard to work with but at the end of the day... its better than no scanner. Enjoy

So last month I went to watch my friend Parlee, Eska and a few street artist paint down Shoreditch. After handing my works in with Lucky Dip Collective that have exhibited it at the Illustration Art Fair last week. I will blog all about in my next post. So I pitched up with my vegan falafel bap with a cheeky wee can of Irn-Bru on a chair and watched them do there thing on a van. A french artist came along and did a throw up of grenade bomb and pretty cool book box with a white and black roller than just disappeared leaving his mark or contribution to society.

My mate Steph gone back to uni and few of the lads had the urge to tag but after being arrested earlier on for painting by the railway tracks on a public wall. So resorting to tagging on a spray can was the only option...I left in the evening to go to work so never managed to take any photos or even witnessed the finished pieces so pretty gutted about that. It was nice to hang out with the boys and catch up with reality after spending so much time at my desk drawing away in a solitary environment executing a few deadlines.

I leave it at that since I need to get back to my drawing, with my deadline to my show draws closer and closer to the time. Very exciting stuff but nervous at the same time. I will keep you all posted and will post some of my more recent works. Im yet to scan in and document a load of pieces I have created in the past month. Thats when you know that your really busy, not even having time to do that.

Save Yourself Rubbertoes.

Im still back tracking with my life the last month or so ago, for those who dont follow me on twitter, my life has been very manic with commission deadlines, exhibition works and working at my jobs. So blogging and updating my website i failed a wee bit i apologize. after all these deadlines and show on the 7th November. i will be going away on my holiday. a tour up the UK, Scotland and onto Madrid (Spain) to meet my best mate over there.

So my mate Steph and I went painting down the Shorditche area. We get our ray of sun involved but she got burnt being ginger and all, bless. Heres a few pictures of the day, we got the rollers going and painted the wall white than got our spray cans out to play. Was a great day mucking about and experimenting on new ideas before she went back to uni in derby to finish off her degree.

Some sneaky pictures there of what i painted trying out a few ideas i had playing on my mind. Been going through a lot recently and my work has been going through a few stages of mixed subjects. After the past few years painting/ drawing with someone in your life that has influence me so much to now doing it for myself. Its really hard to get used to or to even forget, but in time it has got easier and naturally had my ups and downs while drawing/ creating. Taking everything with a pinch of salt is what im doing at the moment, at the moment i have been working on alot of ink stuff and probs change onto the more pencil/digital stuff in the next few months. Im slowly starting to enjoy London and finding new subject matters that has driven my works to new level. I miss the what i had but I have accepted its the past now.

Its been a wee while everyone!

Its been a wee while since I have been on here and so much has happened. Where do I even begin??...hmm I've started reading a book called Day One by David Nicholls, which I have found a really good read so far and can relate to some of the incidences that occur between Emma and Dexter from what I have read so far. But due to a few commissions, an upcoming exhibition, magazines illustrations its been hard to find time for myself. I hear it was at the cinema too but wouldn't dare watch it till i have finished the book knowing probably they'll miss out my favorite or yet to come crucial points in the book.

Also that came in the post the other month was 'Ninja Turtle Sex Museum' by Illustrator James Unsworth. Whom I met last year at the Summer Set House 1st show 'Pick Me Up' in 2010. This book is bursting full of brilliant and grotesque illustrations of turtles having sex with each other, masturbating there nfected turtle penis's, pizza bumming and gay connotations. This book is a must have for the book collection.

My good friend dave came along to London to keep me company and to cheer me up few months back and we took some photos and went to a hardcore /dub step gig to finish it off. We even let loose some sharp tectris shapes on the floor with the rest of the kids. POW POW

some twat slapped his horrid tag over mine and stephs mural we did a few months back, would had been fine it was any good.

The other week I saw 4 chickens, 3 kittens, 7 wee fishes, hamster and a mexican axolotl whom ate his partner the week before the savage beast at Stephanie home! She made me this bless her and we started cutting up bananas and grinding lemons while got messy with the flower. As we baked a load of cute vegan cupcakes and later on ate a lush vegan roast.

I also went to see a band called Trippple Nippple the other month with Florence and Robert (another rob whom has a good name) down shorditch and had a crazy dance where i met mexican journalist and danced while Robert nicked a whole bottle of black sambuca from the bar and drunk the whole thing and sharing it everyone around us, the nutter!

Here are some sneaky pictures of the gig and will be doing a wee illustration for them in the next month, but will keep you posted on that. If you haven't heard of them or know there music, it is very upbeat, quirky and crazy japanese music! so fast my wee rubbertoes couldn't keep up with them at times. I clearly just had too much swagger like mick jagger!

I will leave it here since I got a load more to blog about. My life as you probably can tell is all over the place and i guess if anything Im trying to get used to my new life back in the big smoke and experiencing what I have missed the past few years from living in Kent. It still feels odd at times when Im on my way home on the underground instead of walking up a hill with hardly anyone about.

Huracan Ramirez

Huracan Ramirez, a famous mexican wrestler (lucha libre) whom I've admired for a long time. Having been brought up and being half mexican I've always incorporated my mexican roots into my own works. After beating everyone, we now witness him taking on one of natures giants.

You can see the real things at this years Islington Contempory Art & Design Fair, (next week )14th to the 16th October so pretty soon. Exhibiting this lovely piece along with a few other illustrations and a zine through Lucky Dip Collective so come check it out everyone!. Its a free event over 200 illustrators/ designers so a must see in London.

Art Mail : Anna Jane Searle

The other week Illustrator/ textile designer Anna Jane Searle (@annajanesearle) sent me some art mail. but being caught up with 2 jobs and my art its taken me some time to post up and reply to her art mail but its all happening now!! POW

I think she did her research on me and found out my love for walrus's, type and bow ties. She executed all these into the art mail and I was amazed with the amount of effort she put in. At the top we have these 4 sneaky walruses garland which are very happy chilling with my wee toys on a shelf next to my desk. She hand knitted a bow tie which im yet to wear this week for work, brilliant. She even threw in some cheeky stamps she been making she must had been in a happy mood when making this. Woop!

Art Mail : Jessica Gowling

I have been meaning to write about Jessica Gowling (@jessicagowling), an artist from the British Columbia, Canada whom sent me some lovely art mail last month and here is her debut on my blog, im sure there will be many more posts. I just sent off her art mail today so hopefully arrive to her home slice in one piece and them sneaky raccoons don't nibble the papers inside. I love the 1970's muscles black and white poster she sent me, so bold and cheesy, love it! Not to forget the amazingly detailed ram she silkscreened that she used to write a wee note. woop woop :)

So please do check her work out on her website, her animal prints are amazing and so detailed whats there not to like about it!

Huracan Ramirez always gets into fights and just being a sneaky mexican. So i did a wee A6 series using my wee inks to create this fresh body of illustrations. You can catch seeing the real things at this years Islington Contempory Art & Design Fair. 14th to the 16th October. All come if you can since its going to be pretty mental with crazy amount of talent flying all over the place and obviously ill be there exhibiting a few things through Lucky Dip Collective whom have some brilliant illustrators on board. Il be post some of the pieces & zine that will be featuring very soon on here. But for now here are some cheeky wee images of an old friend whom never lets me down.

Ive spent the last 3 sundays watching on dvd Pride and Prejudice (BBC tv series) in my wee bed with a cheeky cup of green tea and my pillow for company. A day of no drawing or painting, if anything sleeping and reading up on anything I missed that week while scanning in bit and pieces. In the process of cutting up things and playing about with cardboard i thought i do a cheeky wee image on the lovely Elizabeth Bennet.

So now having so much time on my own and in the big smoke, i still trying to get used to it all and at times struggle. Im reminded everyday by the smallest of things what I once had.

I have started to find my soul again after spending alot of time on my own visiting shows and thinking into things too much but my urge for drawing began.. so i attended my needs and started working on some stencils, mural pieces, zines and various illustrations. But what i love most is drawing from observational and capturing people body expressions usually on the London Underground since. It can range from 30 secs to 2 minute drawing all depending on how long that person is allocated in that pose for or until they establish your sneakily drawing them.

I will posting on my facebook page, tumblr and on here everyday (or when i get a chance) with 'a sketch a day'. To keep you hooked with my latest doodles and witnessing my life through drawing.

So much has happened in the past few weeks since I last posted on here. Im very excited to show you all my new body of works, received art mails and most of all im very excited to be going Scotland again in November.

My day trips out: Saatchi Gallery

So i have been meaning to check out the latest collection The Shape Of Things To Come: New Sculpture, that Saatchi Gallery have brought to light. Baring in mind it is the London's gallery for the contemporary arts so all going in with an open mind was a must. No indication of rope or wire surrounding the artworks and freely to take photos, it was a pleasant and trusting atmosphere. With many people sitting on the floor either taking photos or drawing away without any hassle by doing allowed for all ages to enjoy contemporary art in this beautiful building.

Gallery 2 located on the ground floor, in my eyes was absolutely stunning and an abundant amount of layers that David Altmejd had brought to each sculpture, so aggressive but yet so well considered in there own way.

The sculpture about titled 'The New North' (2007), made from wood, foam, expandable foam, paint, magic sculpt, magic smooth, expoxy, glue, mirror, horse hair, quartz crystals and wire. Almost four metres tall and its colossal dimension allows the artist to create microcosmic worlds within it, using ll sorts for example horse hair, wire, mirrored rhomboid shapes and quartz crystals. know for making large- scaled sculptures of anthropomorphic figures cast in the state of metamorphosis. David's work challenges the boundaries of traditional figuration by embedding his subject with otherworldly elements and surrenders it as a human figure in all its spiritual and psychological multiplicity.

As they say, the bigger it is, the bigger the impact, the more questions asked, the more theories thought. This piece brought just that, chilling there in this grand white light space as people walking in with great impact. Peoples faces all become the same, staring up as they walk round this gigantic anthropomorphic figure for a wee while for sure asking themselves similar questions. I loved how David has embraced playful elements for example the mirrored staircase spiraling in and out of ones body.

Also by David Altmejd, was The Healers (2008) on the other end of this gallery space. This conveyed a chaotic scene of overlapping figures and figurative fragments such as, intestine, hands, wings, kissing figures, wildly sexual positions in physical agony. It was for sure one to get as close as possible seeing each individual segment, wondering where this piece began or ended. Thoroughly enjoyed viewing this and the use of spot colour to unify this crazy scene of dilapidated figures and its sexual healing connotations.

In gallery 5 was this cheeky piece in the corner Beethoven's Trumpet (with ear)

Berlinde De Bruyckere K36 (The Black Horse) 2003.

The Milky Way by Bjorn Dahlem 2007. This room sized sculpture was pretty mental that represents abstract concepts of space and matter. Reminded me of climbing frames one used to play on as a child. The neon tubes I thought could symbolize jars of milk in response to its title.

Anselm Reyle Untitled 2006. With this instillation, i sat down and wondered what it could represent without any title to help one by. What I gained from this, was on the bigger bundle of neon lights had few tubes spelling various words such as Open Drug Store. More of an american city/ town thing to have on the street. where the wee bundle of neon lights towards the corner of the room had no signs, only the letter N gives the impression he's contrasting city and country life styles. The city life as we know it is busy, chaotic but he has used the colour green to flows from one side to another giving this carefully composed instillation clarity and structure.

A group of 18 leading contemporary Indonesian artists came together to surrender this exciting body of work titled 'Indonesian Eye: Fantasies And Realities'.

Bringing together traditional and modern cultural influence and expresses this mix in a very fresh and diverse way, using abstract and realistic languages. The image below titles Growing Fish (2008) by Ay Tjoe Christine I thought was really interesting, taking the raw expressive approach. Not really thinking about her mark making too much, just subconsciously powering layers of acrylic paint onto a lifeless piece of fabric. The chaotic texture she has created in the middle works so well with the detailed hand/ foot on either side if it fuse's the image as a whole handsomely.

Mella Jaarsma The Post Modernist (2011). 5 cloaks of embroidered emblems life size.

Aquno Manou Putra, Global Warming III: The Left And Melted Ones (2007). 3 paneled canvas painted with acrylic. The contrast of letting the white paint against black/brown run to the bottom of the canvas on either side of the mountains and the five Indonesian children painted in red with such detail is truly powerful. One of my favorite pieces from this visit.

Wedhar Riyadi brought to the table these funny but dark humored duo titled: Give Me Your Best Flavour and I Will Bite You (2008) and New Neighbour From Outer-space (2009) .

J. Ariadhitya Pramuhendra (1984), a young and rising artist exhibited these amazing charcoal yet enormous pair of canvas's titled A Heaven's Tale (2010) and as picture seen below Devided and Fold (2008). Having previously made a major impact on the art scene with piece Holy Mass (2008), I was excited to see what other works he was to bring out just afterwards like breath of fresh air.

Coming from a traditional fine art background these were my favorite pieces in the entire show. The use of charcoal in Devided and Fold reminded me of French illustrator Kamel Khelif, whom also distorts faces using light/ shadow as a primary influence.

If you get the chance, check out French book called 'Les Exilees,' text: Nabile Fares, illustrations by Kamel Khelif. It is presented in a A4 300 weight paper book, beautiful classic charcoal illustrations throughout but done in a comic format, works smashingly.

The abundant amount of carefully chosen detail in Devided and Fold was so well done. Its just the contrast of heavy black and white spacing used to communicate all the figure's body language in this piece. A clear example of this can be seen with the figures debating in the direction of one in-particular figure in the far right. Photos of this astonishing piece can not do enough justice as to witnessing the real thing in all its glory.

As always after admiring artworks, I pick up an appetite and won ton noodle soup was defiantly on my mind for dinner before heading to life drawing for 2 hours at a wee vintage cafe just off brick lane. My new line: table for one please ... was used once again and has become a recurring thing in this new life style of mine. Still feels very weird saying it, not the sense there's anything wrong with eating alone in a restaurant but in the sense of having her to dine with and a good laugh for the past few years.

I will leave it here, as it is that time again, lunch time for me. I really need to start sketching out this image, as I'm going to be painting my latest mural on the London streets tomorrow called 'Stella Forever: Last Wish Goodbye'.

The Essentials Of Becoming A Mexican Wrestler

As a boy, I’ve always dreamt to be someone big and make a difference in someone’s life. Being half mexican I thought I'd too grow up to be 6 ft and well built like my ancestor whom was a mexican wrestler. But being half Thai on the other hand, I guess It took me down to 5 ft 8 and slender. Not the biggest of guys around but I can run a marathon in a good time. Being inspired by my mexican roots, I often use various aztec symbols in my work to bring my message across. Here are some essentials needed to become a mexican wrestler.

Im currently working on a few more design to go towards my tote bag/ print collection, all ready for the beginning of November. Just in time for the Christmas period, so keep your eyes peeled on my wee shop everyone.

My day trips out: Hunterian Museum

The Hunterian Museum is located in the Holborn area, literally a 5 minute walk from Holborn station but me being a bit silly, i walked straight pass it totally not realizing till i got to a dead end road. With there current show 'London's Lost Museums: Nature and medicine on show' i thought it was brilliant, having such a great collection of specimens and with so much information at hand.

when entering this very grand building The Royal College of Surgeons it is at 1st a bit daunting. Where you are given a wee museum visitors badge to put on, but as you go up the stairs with renaissance styled paintings, you find the entrance to the museum. You are welcomed at the doors with smiley faces where all that daunting feeling I once had went straight away. welcoming of staff asking, 'if its ones 1st time, if you needed any information or would like a free tour with others'. Which I thought was really nice of them to say especially when I was on my own visiting.

Having numerous seats allocated all over the museum, it gave us visitors the option to engage with what was in front of us or just to enjoy the overwhelming atmosphere this collection surrenders. I can't even begin to say how many array of specimen in jars where here on show but there was a lot. Here are some sneaky wee photo's I took while walking round the museum fascinated by every display.

As you've probably established, every jar is numbered and has a brief description of what it is which I found a great help, not knowing hardly anything about fetus's or even about the animal anatomy. I spent the next 2 hours reading and just admiring what these jars captivated!

For those who know me, know that i find walrus's so intriguing and if it was possible to have one for a pet and ride its back following its adventures or sea life. In the photo above where jars numbered 3560/ 3561 are in fact walrus fetus's, amazing!

The collection is spread across 2 floors and even had video footage on the second floor of the human body. One video I watched was of a brain tumor being removed from a woman head, the footage was really graphic and showed how it really is. I knew it was a life threatening operation to go through but just to watch it, makes you see it in a whole different way.

By this point I was so hungry and thought it was time to leave and head out towards China Town London, to try out japanese restaurant Misato. Having heard so many things about this place, I wanted to test it out for myself and see what the fuss was about. Coming from a really cultured background (half Thai and half Mexican) and my parents owning numerous restaurants in the past, I like to see how they present themselves as a whole.

As for the past 5 months, Im still trying to find my feet again and trying to enjoy the small things in life. Having failed many times along the way and tumbled badly letting people down. Im still trying to learn to walk on my own and not feel so lost, no matter how confident I come across in person at my jobs or even when I'm out and about.

'Table for one please....'

In my conclusion, it was ok. The portion were presented on a raised massive plate to give it that extra illusion of quantity. It was great value for money for what it was, but the flavours itself I found pretty dull, the rice was a bit too dry for my personal taste. The service was ok and by doing so, they put a 10% on the bill automatically.

my comment isn't fair to represent them as a whole with this one off occasion.

Il end it here otherwise I'll end up writing an essay and talking off matter, its lunch time for me. Im thinking mexican beans with a cheeky wee disco salad.

My day trips out: Barbican, Watch Me Move

Hey all, I have been meaning to blog about this show I went to the other week. But been so busy recently executing a few images and getting lost around the place so it has taken some time I apologize. Blogging in the early hours of the day is the only time i can find to be on my own and be at one with my thought. So it was a really wet and horrible day where the clouds were having a complete wobbly and were not stopping any time soon. I made forth with a big brolly that would maintain and battle against this chaotic weather that stood between me and visiting this show on my day off.

Surprisingly I have never been to the Barbican before, so it was a 1st for me and was really excited to witness its great scale inside. Also I never hearing of a bad show the Barbican have ever put on. After entering the building and being directed to the 3rd floor to the entrance to 'Watch Me Move' I was confused and questioned , how big is this place and will my wee self ever get out? or was it a small show?

But yes when I arrived, it was a grand entrance as if the bottom 3 levels below me never existed.

The first room was big and in pitch black which were sectioned off with wee curtains to give that cinema feel, even if one had to stand to view all the various black and white footage they had accumulated. Short films dating from the 1890's Lumiere Bothers (Le Sequette) which were of skeletons dancing which i thought were brilliant to the 1930's Fleisher Brothers, most known for Koko the clown leading to (Betty Boo- Snow White). For those who haven't seen it before. here it is.

I remember watching this for the 1st time at university. I was in my 1st year and as per usual fell asleep throughout the lecture but my mate woke me up for this animation, since he knew I wouldnt want to miss this even, if i did enjoy a good snooze in lectures. Looking back i wished i stayed away and might have learnt more on the art history side of things. Rather than now learning all about it properly.

There are so many epic elements in this animation by the Fleisher Brothers, I love!.

Throughout the entire short film, it just flows so naturally visually wise, having a great relationship with the words and music taken into account. Putting these elements together, they still managing to push so much life into the characters and emotion. Betty Boo established for her flirtiness, big eye lashes can be seen at 2 mins 26. Where she sings while crying (crocodile tear's) to the two guards who are ment to execute her. But are left crying from her sweet words destroying there tools.

When Koko the clown starts to sing some blue's at 4 mins 30 changing into significant elements one after a another, It truly amazes me every time!! No matter now many times i watch it. It has that unique flare that todays cartoons just miss out on. Ending with the classic cartoon case, its where alot of cartoons are inspired today, such as Tom and Jerry.

Not knowing, I wasn't allowed to take photo's, getting out my camera and being obvious as possibly can be taking photo's. Naturally i got caught and told, one wasn't allowed so that explains for the lack of photos or odd angled ones since I had to do it more sneakier than the raccoons do when stealing Halah meat burgers from KFC. So I apologize now for the lack of them.

I entered this massive room that had two mammoth like screens on either end screening different things. One screen that followed the title 'super human power', rotating 10 min clips from 10 different films where animation have played a major roll in. For example Akira, Ghost in a shell, Sailor Moon and man more. As for the other screen, it had more playful animations such as the Simpsons, Pop Eye, The Flintstones, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and many more alike. I sat there for quite a while on the soft chairs and headphones provided.

After reading posters and watching various video's about the lifeline of animation so far, it was a fascinating read and made some notes about this in m journal. I than ended up in a room where it was full of award winning short film animations, along with other ground breaking ones that the Barbican selected. I have jotted some of the ones i thought were brilliant in my journal. Don't know how well you can see the names in the photo, but its there either way if you want to know the names i thought worth noting to myself.

By the end, I spent 5 hours watching crazy amount of animations. at 1 point my stomach was rumbling and even had a cheeky wee nap in one of the many booths allocated per screen. After watching a crazy amount of foreign short films on the 2nd level for nearly 2 hours. I wouldn't even know where to start telling you about them. Took a photo of one, where it was a chinese series about a big and his friend the monkey, getting up to mischief and supposedly saving china from demons.

I could write more about this but I still need to reply to a few emails before I get ready for bed. Another long day tomorrow. Will be at the Brick Lane Gallery open night as always doing my thing than onto life drawing in a wee cafe for a cheeky wee 30 minute's session, literally 30 seconds walk from the gallery.

In conclusion to this show, it was worth the £12 entrance fee and going hungry for a few hours so i could stay there longer to enjoy the endless amount of short films brought together by the Barbican.

Im still yet to post up some new material too on here but will by the end of this week.

In a dream I was a werewolf, my soul was filled with crystal light,

lavender ribbons of rain sang, ridding my heart of mortal fight.

I was brought up in China Town (London) through out my childhood but never really drew much of my surroundings. If anything I tried escaping the time, not really accepting my background being half Thai as a kid. These days i embrace it if anything along with my Mexican side as always. I have been working on some observational drawings in China Town for the past month or so, playing with composition and typogragphy. Along witheating many bowls of Won Ton noodle soups and my favourate cheeky dim sum treat Cha Siu Baau buns. Having moved back perminantly to London, I've found the time to start drawing people alot more on a daily basis, when I'm out or even when one iseating at a restaurant.

These days when i go into a restaurant I say 'table for one please' and joined by others like myself eating alone. The hardest challenge i have found yet, is drawing people while they eat without them knowing or missing the company as one once had. All these drawings I have been working on and still am, are based in China Town will be going into a self published zine titled 'China Town: Dim Sum'. An exciting 24 paged bodyof work ranging from observational drawings, to some more illustrated pieces and drawings of things I find interesting or different. Below are 3/4 sneaky preview spreads out of a total of 12 from whats to come from this zine. Along with some photo's of sketch work material.

I will reveal more sneaky news on this subject matter soon. I will be changing around/ updating this website at the end of September when all my deadlines are over with my current works. As mentioned before,I should have these cheapy cheap A5 zine printed, numbered and wrapped up for people to buy, ready for Christmas 2011, woop woop.

My day trips out: Battle Of Waterloo.

Morning everyone, so i went to see my mate Parlee paint at the graffiti competition "The Battle Of Waterloo"under waterloo station aka Leak street, a legal graffiti zone. Where over 40 graffiti writers came along and did there thing, there was hardly any street art... well none at all, so was nice to Parlee keeping it real. Bringing in his weird but cute looking character, a trademark that have started popping up even more across london's walls.

I havent seen him paint in over a month, since i've been away from the studio working on smaller personal projects. So was nice and refreshing to see how much his work just keeps on developing since i last saw him at the studio.

So i went down to support him and see what other writers had to offer before i had to head off to my evening/ night job. Managed to hang out with Rich and Steph which is always nice, since I have been isolating myself for a while working on new idea's and illustrations. Slowly trying to develop my work and cutting street art out my head for a while. So when i come back to that side of my life, il be full of energy and shouldn't have to think too much when boshing out expressive lines across walls.

Steph in mid pose with Parlee piece, along with the progression on his mural he produced for the competition. In my eyes, he executed it so well and served up alot of the writers there even if he didnt write any type. I love the wee man expression on his face and how these Transformer-like character 's are either chasing after him or he is in command. Going by the wee man's body talk its hard since his face is pretty intense, in all fairness its on of them epic scenes captured you sometimes see in classic war paintings.

We saw a load of massive sunflowers and they looked so sad. Probably because they were so big they couldnt keep there head up anymore or maybe one having a bad hair day? Steph posed in front of it as if it was a shower hose, as you can tell her attempt of her in the shower supposedly failed.Who actually showers like that, standing there posing as if for some swagger magazine, lol

heres another street art piece by the Lost Boyz, i saw at the graffiti battle which drew in a big audience surrounding it and was in fairness by the entrance of the tunnel. drawing in the public walking near by.

il leave it here for now, time to make some brunch and get sketching as one has a load of story boarding along with idea's need executing onto paper.

My day trips out: Rinse the Skream.

Rinse FM have put up a pop up show down in Shoreditch, just off brick lane. Rinse FM is a British underground music community for DJ's and MC's fresh meat and upcoming grime artist play there beats on air. Was really to see these vinyls and photography prints displayed as a body of work, an achievement, an exciting body of work and for sure showed there personality in the self portraits.Here are some sneaky pics of the vinyl display.

Always have loved The Benga & Coki : night cover. despite how many times its been played for the past 5 years at raves, clubs, house parties or even when i draw at my desk. I still love the song and always has a wee dance when im at the studio painting alone. Im sure many of you will have heard of it somewhere, if not here is the music video for it.

I will leave it at this as its pretty late and i should get some sleep, will post more about my art and more exciting places I have visited recently super soon.

My day trips out: Day To Day, Ocean To River.

Hey everyone,

its been a wee while know since i last posted on here, been pretty busy on my side. working on a few illustrations and putting together my final drawings towards some new paintings i will be starting next week i hope. So these days i spend alot of time on my own, now that i have moved back to london permanently.... for now. Even if im thinking of moving to scotland at some point, but have too many responsibilities here in london for now.

Anyways i visited a few shows in the past few weeks and exploring my home town London, since i spent the past 6 years away in Kent. As many of you know, places like London never stay the same, always new places pop up, wether its gallery shows, restaurants, events or even the people. So been exploring what there is and maybe might influence my way of thinking and my art in that matter.

Spending a fair amount of time once a week on Time Out London's website, i found so many things to do here in my home town and i love to travel so thats not a problem for me. I started my day as usual with my morning run, banana milkshake, shower than straight out the front door i was ready to explore my 'to do list' i always plan each week.

It was a brilliant show, having a back to back show, Jake and Dinos Chapman brothers. One of them at Hoxton White Cube and the other at Masons Yard it was well curated and both very similar but saw different personalities from each other. Here are some wee snippets of what i get up to during the day.

One of the owners of a chinese restaurant i go to now and again,was in the loo so hard to take a sneaky photo.

Afte a lush soup as always, i headed down to Haunch Of Venison, where Giuseppe Penone and Richard Long where show casing there instillations of there own journeys with natural elements including long walks, trees, stones, water and sap. Loved the white spacing and how they emphasized on various elements in the show.

Followed by visiting Patrick Hughes 'Flower show'

that was really interesting, his previous works have been better i felt but as always got one spinning around the room in circle a few times as i tried figuring out how he does it so well. Mind you, i must had looked pretty odd on my own spinning on the spot and probs looked like i was dancing on my own. lol

We all agree it was what we needed, a woman's touch and fresh meat to remind us what we are doing right/ wrong in the process of getting our artworks exposed to a bigger crowed. As artist's we all just get so focused in our work, we forget the business/ exposure side of things. Helping to expose with what the team stand for and my painted side do. Sarah Akwisombe is a trendsetter, influential role model and pioneer. She has become something of a leader for the young, intelligent and alternative. The Cookie Monster & The Girls.

So i have recently been in love with typography and slowly drawing more and less characters. I think they both play a major roll in our everday lives and been meaning to use in my work for the past few years. Being half Thai and half Mexican I naturally do my food shopping at different places such as chinese supermarkets, specialist latino food stores and off course china town to suit all my needs. The packaging to alot of the products i find truely fascination in the sense of typography and the use of colour. Slowly i have started documenting and incorporating it into my works. Above I chose to write in chinese the words "Cookie Monster" along with how you pronouns it below.

After work at the gallery i bopped into Tatty Devine just off Brick Lane, London. To see there current show titled "Girls and Zine" where only women illustrators could exhibit there zines and even the music in the store were of female artist. It was a great atmosphere while engaging with all zines.

I will leave it at that. since i need to start working on some new material and will be updating my website with 2 new wee pieces tomorrow night. So keep watch everyone.

So I have been to a few art shows in the past few days and painted abit too. Here is a cheeky shot of gallery shows i aimed to visit along any others i bumped into along the way. It was a great day visiting and being inspired by some of these great artist's. I started my journey in London Kings Cross for Takashi Murakami show at the Gagosian gallery.

Here are some of the photos from his show/ instillation.

Than went to Jake or Dinos Chapman at White Cube, Hoxton Square. They have more of there work showing at Masons Yard so will be visiting that later this week. In the end i think i visited about 8 shows. I will when i have time write a full review of all the shows i have been to this month and see where that takes me in my personal conclusion.

Most Haunted!

So recently, amougst my crazy life style of drawing, spraying, painting and working a load to pay the bills. I have started search for a place to move into for 2012, its about time I rebuild my new life in London. But coming from a household thats superstitious, questions raised about it, 'Must be careful Robert, of the ghosts that own it' or 'Do you know who lived in it previoiusly and how they die!'.

So at this rate, it looks like I will be build my own house with my own wee arms in a holy place?....
Or i might have to call in my good chums from way back, 'Most Haunted' to help me out.

I have been working from home the past 2 weeks, just to get away from the smell of paint at the studio and to clear my mind in a different way of thinking. Its what i need in order to move forward with my work and just paint at a big scale or with spray cans and big brushes. Its nice to sit at my desk and not worry about spending too much money on train fairs and snacking.
But will be back at the studio next week though i need to start painting this massive 5 and a half meter canvas as i have previously talked about. Im taking this time out the studio to sketch it all up than optimize it as much as possible.

Sanna Awoke With Knee's Of Gold And Wooden Shoes

For the past 2 months, all I have thought about is going to Scotland once again. With a constant notion of sitting off the path-ment in Glasgow's eating one my favourate dishe's: haggis.

Surrounded by its dark but distinct architecture, I always find it blissful every time i come to visit each year with my sketchbook and pencils. Recently I have been told by the lovely Sanna Dyker, a talented Illustator from Dundee that a must see visit in Scotland is 'Sanna Bay'.

From what i read on 'Sanna Bay' it is a beautiful place to explore with lots of rocks and white sand. There are lots of shells as well as rock pools to check for marine life. It is as one of the most painted beaches in Scotland. And on top of that, Sanna Dyker was named after it.

No matter how hard we fall from a long term break up, we save ourselves and rise like the ocean tide moving forwards. As always, I'm very much looking forward to touring one of my places once again with my sketchbook/ camera and have new adventures.

Amelia And The Monsters

After executing extensive mural's across the London area and painting ginormas scaled paintings at the studio, I decided to take a break from being on my wee feet constantly.

Carrying a massive rucksack bursting full of spray cans, pots of paint, brushes, stencils, sketchbook and my ladder on my shoulders. Before starting my next mighty peice canvas at 5 and a half meter's, I wanted to work on some illustrations. I have longed and missed drawing at my big desk playing with typography and imagery, with the company of my ink potsand pencils. Having now spend a whole week sketching and playing around with fresh material.
I finally started off with bringing to life 'Amelia And The Monsters'.

Amelia Smash, a miss understood girl who ends up living with 3 bitchy girls, being the mature one out the bunch, she keeps far away from them,not to bring herself down to there level. But when everyone is out she brings over her gang of sneaky monsters, where they have fun doing streetdance choreography's, letting loose sharp shapes and body popping moves all over the place. This allows her to keep sane and to follow herchildhood dream on being a dancer.

I have created a hand-drawn typography poster which will follow with 4 wee illustrations under title 'Amelia And The Monster's'. Im currently working on loads of illustrations for the next two weeks solidly, so shall be updatingmore matieral on here in a few days.

I also went to see the lovely Gemma Correll to do a wee chat about her work at Regent Street, london Apple Store. It was absolutely amazing and she really did so well despite being her 1st time talking to a large number of people that attended her chat. Also managed to get the cardboard cut out of her pet pug 'Mr Norman Pickle', that appears in her work alot along with cats.

7th Stella Forever mural and it still brakes me in two.

Hey everyone!

So been pretty busy in the streets painting up murals of Stella Forever across London for the past 3 months. I find it therapeutic to paint her, thought this time was the 1st time I painted a only her head. Every time i paint Stella Forever i feel a little part of me disappears and it does hurt to paint them, they remind me every time of great memories and how my life has completely changed now because of it..

although I didnt get as upset as I did when i painted my 1st Stella Forever mural, so was easier to paint her. It was a spontaneous day, where Talia, Steph and myself deciding to go have fun painting and muck about before I had to head off to work.

This is how Steph and I roll when it comes for ultimate hight painting on the street, and even had a wee audiance watching while drinking there cheeky bottle of cider on the floor.

I threw my arm all over the place letting out my anger and everything thats still bottled up inside me. Altho i was chuffed that i got some fresh new creps on my feet. so was nice to bust them out and dont mind if i get them covered in paint or messy! I think i got so used being covered in paint so a wee bit of paint im sure wont hurt a fly...

Steph finishing her muffin robot up 2nd with Talia soon after with her own/ Steph portrait with crazy cool colours. Being Talia 1st time painting, it was super nice to show her the basic ropes and see her having fun doing something out her comfort zone.

My mural next to my good friend Parlee's whom i share the studio with too, check his work out too, its brilliant!! and on the right hand side is Steph final yummy muffin robot. Woop Woop.

Was nice to see the entire wall covered with my paint crew just off Brick Lane, London.

il leave it at this, its getting really late and should sleep. i keep falling asleep at my desk again nearly every night round about 4am. But today i will sleep and not draw or work on this crazy 'The Fall Of Hurican Ramirez' story board im currently working on. Its going so well but will talk more about this subject matter on a later post.

To Inhabit The Halflight Of My Own Paintings.

I have been meaning to post these final paintings i finished last month. Looking back at them i can see alot of anger and hatred from ones rough markings. I was going through a stage where i accepted what has happened but truly despised the way it all ended. It really gets me so angry and annoyed i try not to think about it but as always i do leaving me feeling sad. No matter how much i run, become a veggie, try to help others and work hard, i still feel so lost and hopeless. I guess its part of growing up, when you've hit rock bottom, all you can do is stand up and find your ways again.

At times i feel like a stranger in my own home town and began getting lost more and more, where i used to know London like the back of my hand. Its a weird feeling and I hope i feel alive soon.

Anyways, here are some of the detail that went into the pair and slowly incorporating spray cans into my work a wee bit. Im happy with them but the marks i have created are a lot more darker/ rougher. Lets see what art show show they end up in.

So i have started to prepare my next paintings at 5 and a half meters i didn't know where to start. Even just to have it unfolded out like this, i laid on it and contemplating its true scale in comparison with myself.

As you properly seen in previous posts, a messy studio... but now its all clean and super organized. check my paint stand loving her new surroundings!

I go running 5 days a week and drink afterwards every time a banana milkshake and if there's oranges, I freshly squeeze them badboi them to make a lush juice. Im on that vitamin C.

I best go and start gathering my weapons now, since the London Riots has hit down my road literally and god knows what's going to happen for the rest of the night or whats going to become of it. Its so out of hands its unreal!!

'Teens Unite Fighting Cancer' Art Workshop

So a few weeks back, me and the team did a art workshop with Teens Unite Fighting Cancer at our studio in South London. We all did space graffiti on canvas's so they could take home there achievements for the day. woop woop

Was a great day showing them such a easy process to create a space graffiti to be such fun for all levels of creativity. Along with putting up a 'TEENS UNITED' throw up on side of the studio.

Felt really nice to make a difference in someone else's life than my own.

This is what i needed for the past few months of not being myself and lost interest in caring about anything. I guess I missed caring and helping someone, who'd appreciate it and make the effort.

These kids were great, such fast learners and dispite what they've been through so far i cannot feel or explain in words. They didn't let there past experiences ruin there day or even there day to day life in general.

We all had fish and chips for lunch and a cheeky we bottle of water. Before and the teens got together to put up a wee mural on the wall and got them playing around with colours and working together.

Hey everyone so, i have completed another two wee paintings to add to the collecting. After building over 30 canvas's when i was 16. 7 years have passed if anything, they only gained dust sitting behind my bed and now i have found a purpose for them.

It has been completely mental the past months for me. Im either working at my jobs or at the studio painting to forget everything but like everyone thinking into things too much just gets you so angry and bitter. So these portraits were ment to be pretty really cute but after thinking of how things were last summer. I lost it going crazy with my brushes/hands on there faces and it changed to my original sketch i had in mind. Will be adding a few little touches to them though, after just looking them a few days later.

'The Phoenix And The Hunter' - Amelia Smash & Stella Forever

Hey everyone, just a cheeky wee update with my 2 latest piece's out of 30 to come out in the new 2 half months. Lots of painting, zine and screen prints coming out at you. be excited everyone. my work has begin to flourish and gradually take shape after the rough patch where i didnt do much but ran, ran, ran, ran and a full murals of Stella Forever. I guess i still do the same with running every morning no matter, raining, thunder, sun, windy or snow if it comes this time of year =/ and throwing paint all over the place across street walls of her. After bashing out sketches left right and center, i needed my other hand to join in. These massive paired paintings are titled "The Phoenix and the hunter".

A dark story about two characters who despise each other and have different intention's but have no choice but to get on.

I present you the studio, been working on a few paintings at the same time but these two had to be done first being the biggest and most in demand. So after regaining my love for drawing coming back 2 weeks ago, I haven't stopped and been working on new material at the studio and really pushing myself out my comfort zone. I will be creating a painting using my other hand with a totally different subject matter to my usual, lets see what marks i come out with. will post about this next week. For now here are some captured moments of what my life has consisted of the past week while painting 'The Phoenix and the hunter'.

Today my rucksack consisted of....

Bought wood and dragged it back from the wood shop on a skateboard across the hight street back to the studio to build the massive canvas's and get the DIY swagger on !

Felt really bad, don't know how this big fella got into my paint and bounced off my canvas. when i was literally dunking a massive brush in a tub of white paint pelting it at the canvas.

I spend alot of time in the bath tub at the studio too when deep in thought or eating my lunch..

It does get really a bit lonely and no one to text on Friday nights eating dinner for one....

These massive pair of lovely canvas's finished at 1am that night.

Shall leave it at that since I got to shoot off and start my day. Having a few things to sort organize and get my life back on track. Still feeling really disappointed from it all but guess im the better person in this and being mature about the whole situation. As my best mate said to me the other day- 'Rob you are brilliant and the best guy i know, never forget that'. I have that thought to live by for now.

Stella Forever - Acceptance

Past month has been pretty hectic on my side and been really busy at the studio. Been working on new material for shows and sorting myself out. Im getting alot better now, still go for my run every morning at 8am to follow with a fresh banana milkshake i look so forward to make. I've really got in shape in the past 2 month. Last night was the 1st time i felt happy and didn't think about the past. Even if i had a haircut that morning and was abit too short for my likings.... Its the next step to acceptance and starting my life again. I may be a fool, karma ain't.

Here are some photo's of my daily life and what I've been up to. Will be posting my new art material on here and my website within the next week. Be excited!!

Biggest childhood memories with my sister. Spent most of it in china down and still do till today.

So I took part in The Cally Festival doing some live art and got my Rubbertoe's out for the kids.

Felt nice to muck around with the paints and not think about what i was doing. After being in the studio working on new material. 18 hour's a day and becoming so in depth with paintings i have to execute for a few shows my work will be exhibiting within the next 2 months. As you can imaging, i started going abit mad and sick of painting by this point.

Than i met this babe, she was brilliant!

Than had to rush back to the studio from the festival it was to do an all nighter and finish off paintings "The Phoenix and the hunter" for a major deadline. Which you'll all see in my next post. Lots of goodies to come.

"Karma is going to get you Stella Forever"

Today was the first time in nearly 2 months, I held a pencil and drawn. It felt wierd but so satifying to

hold my belovid pencils again, sketching spontaniously in a wee cafe where I turned up not exspecting a

life drawing session taking place. I guess it's true what my best mate said to me than:

'When your truely ready Rob, your love for drawing - will find you.'

After going through this really rough patch, I started painting this peice to keep me from going insaine.

I kicked it, jumped, sang, screamed, threw brushes, paints, spray cans at it and even dipped my tranners

in buckets of paint, pelting it across the studio to mark the mural.

Featuring one's character again Stella Forever, she hides amongst her friends to run from situations.

She dances, she parties and she drink as much as she can to forget it all. They all adore her and her

long hair but dont realise how nasty she really is. At the end of the day, karma will prevail on everyone's

actions in life.

Its only going to get bigger and better everyone. At the moment Im super excited, im currently working

on a new body of work full of energy and real mixture of mediams. Ranging from a series of massive

spray can/ paint wood peice, traditional ink peices on paper, and a limited print run of zine titled

"The Fall Of Huracan Ramirez" all done in pencil. Also last but not least, i will be having

3 new A2 screen prints coming out within the next month.

Day 2: Stella Forever

So I woke up at 6 am to head to the studio to pick up a few paints, brushes, rollers, bucket and a ladder. Before heading off to London/ Waterloo to paint my dearest character Stella Forever, whom is girl who has long hair and mistaken for a mermaid. Her flowing lines and shapes which describes her looks, but her as person she is very unpredictable.

This took me 4 hours to paint.

"Seeing some other drawings of the artist at his website – www.sniffsniff.co.uk – (Please Google it. It’s fascinating enough to click) I found, it was not necessary to be Japanese but his own style, even his another drawing of western woman having same kind of rather smooth, somewhat innocent, naive faces — may be originated from his own memories of childhood – hence having no element of eroticism. I like the art which appeals to my subconscious – and make me puzzle but more importantly – gave a kind of soothing, – listening a far distant lullaby like feeling."

The process: Still going through a really rough patch with a few things but managed to drag myself out of bed after 3 hours laying in bed thinking about things and where I went wrong. Took a few cheeky wee photos of how i put it together and how my work pretty much stands up from its surroundings. Making me think is this media for me sometimes due to the usual characters you get creating "street art" or tagging. Even though I use paint brushes too along with spray cans. I dont tag letter, but my work on the street still is associated with street art. So wonder if its the right impression i want to give being an mixed media artist sometimes in the UK. I know it would be more excepted in the States or Mexico, which Im aiming to move to in the next few years.

But for now I guess I got to balance the two, my big pieces and small intricate ink paintings, story pencil illustrations I do. Maybe i wasn't ment to be an artist and maybe follow my other carreer path as a curator.

No matter how many times I ask myself- Why am i an artist? I can only come to the conclusion with:

'it makes me happy and feel it helps to stay in control myself when going through dark times. Sometimes it does over take my life but maybe thats my purpose in life for now. Even if I don't have the opportunity to show her and make proud of me. I guess i can only hope I like my work

myself. Stella Forever will have a friend in the next piece I do of her, he will be a guy who really takes control of the relationship and bosses her around.

Working on new pieces/murals in the studio!!

Hey everyone,

its been a wee while i know. It's been a bit hectic past 2 weeks over at my end. Going through a really rough patch at the moment so tried to not stay in my bed sobbing too much and literally had to be dragged out of bed to go to the studio and paint. Especially when i got a new body of paintings to produce and zine 'The Fall Of Huracan Ramirez'. The timing could had not got worse in my state of mind. Been slowly sorting my life out and get it back on track with reality.

Took a few cheeky shots of the studio where Im getting my swagger on and letting loose some sharp shapes with my paints. Doing a series of wood canvas's from various parts of my story 'The Fall of Huracan Ramirez'. Along with a few paintings and ink illustrations of Stella Forever and her adventures.

Not forgetting painting along with all that a massive mural on the studio wall that will look pretty intense once finished. It has a lot of work needed still but here are some of the progression shots.
